Shameless Self Promotion

I want to point you to the latest IMAO Podcast, which features yours truly in a spoken-word piece I wrote especially for this week's time-travel theme Podcast.
The IMAO Podcast is a weekly political-comedy production, performed and produced by the members of IMAO.us -- you'll want to check them out, if you haven't already discovered their irreverent approach to life and politics.

It's typical of entitlement minded leftists to sulk and pout that it's their right to have their inane comments posted wherever they wish, with no monitoring and with certainly no limitations, despite their inclusions of political knee-jerkery, name calling, sexual speculations and objectionable language.
Shannon Thompson, the writer of the post you link to, somehow believes that "You should be ashamed"; "How the hell can you be gay and Republican"; "If you really are gay . . . ": "liar" and "loser" are something other than stamp-your-foot outbursts from a mindset trapped in adolescence. To each his own, I guess. What I wrote about Fred Phelps was true, and the correlations I made between the bigotry and insanity of Phelps and the contemporary Democratic Party are sadly valid. Ms. Thompson's criticisms focused more upon my sexuality (yet more evidence of the left's denigration of homosexuality) rather than the issues presented, so I ignored her and moved on.
Perhaps being ignored reminded her too much of her awkward high-school years . . .
I monitor my comments for spam (I close comments to posts after two weeks to avoid becoming swamped with comment spam, and I've already had to delete the trackback option because of trackback spam), objectionable language and knee-jerk name-calling. I've published plenty of comments in other posts that are critical of my points of view, so the argument that I censor criticism is a paper tiger. If all that a person can bring to my table is a litany of emotionally driven insults (and ALL IN CAPITAL LETTERS, BECAUSE THEY REALLY REALLY FEEL IT) rather than facts, logic and an ability to correlate, then I don't bother to invite them into the discourse.
Some, then, choose to whine and shriek about it elsewhere, which is entirely their prerogative. More power to her. Personally, I don't see what the fuss is about. I write my blog as a means of showing that not every homosexual believes and spouts the leftist political rhetoric in which the majority of the gay-left is mired. I suppose the fact that leftists find my blog alarming enough to attempt to cast doubt as to whether I actually am gay only proves my point about the left and its dishonest relationship to gay men and women, and its dishonest relationship to tolerance and diversity as a whole.

homocon, first thanks for the link.
second, i'd really like to get your thoughts on two quick points.
1 - ted bundy was a serial killer. does this mean republicans are serial killers?
2 - bush and many republicans support a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. does this mean republicans support gay rights?
i think it would be interesting to get a serious and thought provoking conversation going about this.
i know you probably aren't a regular reader of my blog, but it's kind of light hearted. yes, i called you a few names. but my site isn't CNN or FOX or NBC. it's a just a blog...by a GUY, might i add. and a guy who likes to be silly.
but i also like to have serious debates, so if you're up for it... wanna start with those two points? got any for me?

C'mon, Shannon... Would a straight guy's blog look this clean and well-designed?
I show up here to mingle with the beautiful people after a hard day of slogging through crappy Blogger-In-A-Box sites or cluttered guy blogs. This is an Audi-driving, Mac-using gay man blog if I ever saw one!

I traded in the little Audi for an SUV, Mr. Out-of-the-Loop. I wanted to do my part in using up every last drop of oil on the frickin' planet so that we'll be forced to switch to alternative fuel sources.
No one can tell me I'm not doing my part . . .
But I do use a Mac. God, I love Macs.
