First off, I'm not a Liberal but neither am I a Conservative. I'm one of many who find both sides to be just a little crazy. But I have to ask what it's like to be a homosexual in a party where many just plain don't like 'fag's' or 'queers'?
Are you a social conservative or just a economic conservative?

What's the difference between being a social conservative and an economic conservative? How can one be isolated from the other?

P.S. Me want the 'me want' too! Fabulous liquidy colors and designs. Scrumptious. You're growing on me, homocon, whoever the heck you are.

Social Conservative is someone who believes in traditional social values (ie, heterosexual marriage, Church, mom and apple pie). While a Economic Conservative believes in balanced budgets and bringing down the debt, but not necessarily in traditional social values.

Ahhh, makes sense. Thanks Jesse! :o)

Another way of saying it is that Economic Conservatives where the kids in the Math Club in high school, always running for Class Treasurer and making charts for how they spent their lunch money per food group. Social Conservatives were the ones who where stuffing the Economic Conservatives into lockers, while demanding more funding for sports and the football team.

Since homoCON is mystery boy of the year, I'm going to guess that he longed to be in the math club but his football coach wouldn't let him.

Why would you be a part of a political party who hates you and doesn't want to treat you like an equal human being with equal rights? Are you insane? What is WRONG with you!??????

I don't know. Having gay conservatives just proves that human beings are complex and multifaceted creatures not easily pigeon hold into convenient classes.
And Ben, love the analogy!
Interesting thing though. I was watching this news story on Tahiti. It was saying Tahiti is a very conservative and traditional country. But part of that tradition is a reverence for gay men. So it really depends on your perspective.

Why NOT be a part of a party that suits your political tastes (give or take)? Does every republican despise homosexuals? Probably not. The republican party isn't entirely compromised of conservative Christians.

Maybe not every Republican despises homosexuals as you say, but they ARE the party who is making a major issue out of banning gay marriage...to take the spotlight off of more pressing and important issues such as a failing war in Iraq and a sinking economy, among other things. I just think it's a tad odd that a gay person would support a political party who wants to make their personal rights against the law when it comes to marriage by amending the constitution, when in fact, taking away one's (anyone's) rights is unconstitutional. To each his own I guess...if everyone thought the same way, the world would be a very boring place.
