Oil Industry: 1 - Greenpeace: 0

I just watched Brit Hume give a news report on a Greenpeace protest gone awry. I had to rewind the report (TiVo, love it, can't live without it) to make sure that I heard it correctly.

Apparently, a group of protesters slipped into the International Petroleum Exchange with the intent of creating so much noise and disruption with blaring horns and blasting whistles that all trading would cease between 2 and 7:30 P.M. -- but the floor traders were having none of it. The Greenpeace protesters were cornered, had file cabinets turned over on them and were struck with numerous blows. At least one of them was injured and taken to the hospital.

An IPE spokesperson said that all trading had resumed by 3:15 P.M.

Greenpeace said they were demonstrating because although Kyoto was a good first step, it did not go far enough to combat climate change.

There weren't any further details forthcoming as to what measures might go "far enough" for Greenpeace.
